Alternative Route 1 (via Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan): Kashgar via Torugart or Irkeshtam via Kyrgyzstan via Tajikistan via Afghanistan to Pakistan, 15-18 days. Used when the Khunjerab Pass is seasonally closed.
